Hi, I’m Nydia and I’m here to be your energy bestie.
Creating transformative experiences for myself and others is my jam. I believe our potential is interconnected and that the more present, compassionate and imaginative we can be, the better the world will be. That’s why as your energy bestie, I will challenge you, experiment with you and cheer you on.
How I Got Here
I've been where you are—a high achiever trapped in burnout cycles, questioning how to sustain meaningful work without sacrificing myself.

My journey into this work started with my Stanford mechanical engineering degree, where I learned to approach complex systems scientifically. After experiencing toxic work environments, I pursued an MBA centered on this question: How do I bring out the best in myself and others while building organizations where people flourish? I was selected as a fellow in the Center for Positive Organizations +LAB at the University of Michigan, learning from world-renowned experts on thriving organizations.

But in 2020, despite all that knowledge, I burnt out at a tech startup. That's when the Energy Takeback was born. I applied my engineering mindset and coaching training to design a systematic approach to energy management, even bringing in principles from thermodynamics (the study of energy transfer and transformation) to understand how we can shift and transform our energy.
I invited friends to test it with me. At the end, everyone said: "Keep doing this."

Five years later, I've worked with leaders across industries who all face the same challenge: creating meaningful impact at work while still having energy for the people they love most.

As your energy bestie, I bring:

-
Research-backed frameworks from positive organizational scholarship
-
Professional coaching expertise in energy management and leadership development
-
Deep understanding of the systemic forces that create burnout culture
-
Five years of pattern recognition from working with diverse leaders facing real challenges
-
Practical, neuroscience-informed tools that create lasting change
I'll teach you how to create more harmony between work and life through actionable practices that actually work.

Integrity as a Coach
A coach has to be coachable or else the hypocrisy?!? I am always growing my own skills and training. Here are some of the experiences I’ve focused on.

-
Generative Coaching methodology which comes from the Generative Knowledge Institute is storytelling based and what helps us identify actionable insights to implement. You can watch this video to learn more about Embodied Questions which are core to this methodology.
-
As a +LAB Fellow at the University of Michigan’s Center for Positive Organizations, I learned directly from faculty like Robert E. Quinn and Jane Dutton and actively follow the latest research from its network.
-
I’ve completed the Healing Trauma Program with Dr. Jeffrey Rutstein. I implement self-regulation and embodiment practices into coaching.
-
I earned my Trauma of Money certification because money is energy and our relationship to it directly impacts the way we show up in our personal and professional lives.
My Approach
Caring deeply and lightly - I created the Energy Takeback for people who also care deeply about their communities and who sometimes feel weighed down by that care. I myself wanted to learn how to continue caring deeply about the world and lightly enough to sustain that care and imagine new possibilities.

Welcoming intelligence in all its forms - I was the Valedictorian of my high school class and I graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Nerd much? But on that journey, I was always focused on getting the right answers more than whether I was asking good questions. I also thought my brain was my exclusive source of intelligence. I know now that our bodies, instincts and emotions have so much intelligence to offer when given the chance. Their intelligence is critical to an energy shift.
