Dear gentle reader, burnout does not have to be a fact of life. Will disrupting burnout require a certain amount of rebellion from you? It sure will! Because we live in a society where the most popular response to “How are you?” is “Busy”. But you don’t have to rebel alone. The Energy Takeback community is here for you.

During these transformative multi-week programs, you will give a new type of attention to your energy. You’ll notice those places where you are giving too many f**** and learn how to identify the appropriate amount of f****, and sometimes yes, that number will need to go to zero.
​
You’ll experience structured personal and group reflection to surface the actionable insights to create change for yourself. Some programs also include 1-on-1 time with Nydia so you can really dig deep on those energy narratives that it is time to let go of and replace.
On this journey you will:
Connect the dots about your energy beliefs:
You know the ones like “I’m a people pleaser so how can I say no” or “I’m not doing enough” or “Prioritizing my well-being is selfish”. Wait, but aren’t these just personality traits? Nope, they are learned behaviors for sure which means they can be unlearned.
Figure out what is actually true and authentic for you and your energy:
What makes you come alive and brings you energy? Do you know who or what drains you and how to respectfully decline those work happy hour invites you’ve been wanting to say no to all along? During our work together, you will have the space to tune into how you actually want to feel and what is important to you minus all the societal and cultural “shoulds”.
Experiment and focus on small, actionable changes:
​If you are looking into a program about burnout, odds are you don’t have the energy to turn your life upside down. Good news though, you don’t have to turn your life upside down to get your energy back. It’s the small and intentional actions that you’ll reap rewards from.
Learn from and create supportive community:

Why rebel alone when you can do it with other amazing humans? Starting in session 1 we learn how to ask questions and listen differently, so that you feel truly seen and heard. Because when you decide to give fewer f****, you want a team cheering you on. Our cohort model brings joy and connection to your energy takeback journey.
Join Other Leaders Disrupting Burnout
You can expect:
Group Sessions:
We’ll meet for six interactive sessions hosted once a month that run from 2 to 3 hours. We spend time in breakout groups doing structured storytelling and learning from each other. You will feel a strong sense of connection with your cohort members. Each session has an intentional focus.
In Between:
Takeback. Refuel. Shift when you need it. Align to your values. That’s what the reflections and assignments given in between sessions are designed to support you in doing. The focus is on applying the insights from the group and 1-on-1 sessions and on practicing the small changes that make a big difference.
Developing an Energy Profile
Through these programs, you'll be able to build out your own energy profile with increased clarity, self-awareness and exercising your agency over your energy. Here is an example of Nydia's energy profile.
Energy Fuel
Hope is my energy fuel, so please help me see the possibilities. Invite me to imagine.
Managing your energy can feel very meta and impossible, but when you know what your specific energy fuels are, you can make choices that align. For example, one of my energy fuels is hopefulness. That means I carefully manage my news consumption. I’ve read books about hope. When I’m feeling drained in a situation, I ask myself what I can be hopeful about and that flips me into a different energy.
How to Appreciate Me
I love surprise messages when you share how I helped you show up differently, see a new connection, etc. Include me in fun things.
Hearing “you did a great job” is just not enough for me to feel truly valued. What can I say, words of affirmation is not my love language. So I know to ask that person if they can share what feels different about how they are showing up after whatever engagement we had. I can ask for what I need to feel valued and appreciated because I know what those things look like.
Helps Me Communicate
Ask me to take a few deep breaths together first. Give me a date and time when we can talk about the issue. Ask me questions before you try to solve my problem.
I really really hate when I share something with someone and they immediately start trying to solve my problem. I find these interactions very draining because my first thought is “do you think I’m an idiot and haven’t tried that?”. I can feel it in my body when this is happening and instead of letting myself go all the way to drain, I say to the person “I’m noticing that I’m feeling x, can we try thinking of questions I should explore instead?” Of course, sometimes the relationship with the person I’m talking to doesn’t matter to me so I can also cut them off and move on. Zero f****.
Supports My Well-Being
Check in on what is truly urgent. Exercise. Dance. Eating thoughtful and tasty meals.

Watching movies at the theatre
I already knew some things that supported my well-being and were micro-energy doses, but I didn’t always incorporate or prioritize them intentionally. Instead, I waited until I desperately needed an energy shift. Now I look at my week ahead and think, “Hm, what coffee shop will I visit this week?” or before a zoom call in which I want to have good and open energy, I play one of my favorite (albeit silly) pop en espanol songs from the 90’s and have a solo dance party. Do I imitate some of the moves from the music video? Of course. There is comfort in routine.
